Fraxel Laser Treatments Tallman Medical Spa is proud to now offer the Fraxel SR1500 – a powerful upgrade to the Fraxel Laser system that just became available in January of 2007. Dr. Tallman is the first physician in Billings and the surrounding area to have upgraded to this Fractional technology. The Fraxel SR1500 is a more powerful laser that provides better results in less treatment sessions than the traditional Fraxel SR750 Laser. The SR1500 does not use the "blue dye" associated with the other Fraxel technology. Most importantly, the optics of the Fraxel are optimized to deliver powerful treatments with significantly less pain. Our patients are reporting fantastic results and they are much less concerned about discomfort. Fraxel, or fractional laser skin resurfacing, is a safe and gentle alternative to traditional laser resurfacing. Tallman Medical Spa has found that Fraxel is extremely effective for resolving cosmetic problems which are normally difficult to treat, including: Acne scars Rather than removing the entire outer layer of skin, as ablative laser resurfacing does, fractional resurfacing uses a very narrow column of light, targeting and destroying microscopic areas while leaving healthy cells surrounding the destroyed intact. This allows for quick healing and reduced pain. The healthy cells left behind aid in the healing process. Collagen production is stimulated, the skin tightens and pigmentation is normalized. Typically three to five sessions are required (spaced about three to six weeks apart) for complete treatment depending upon skin condition and treatment. This gradual process is safer and healthier for your skin and involves only mild discomfort during the procedure. In order to make sure that your treatment is as pain free as possible, you will have numbing cream placed on the areas being treated for one hour prior to treatment (so plan on arriving early), and cold air will be used during the treatment. After Fraxel treatment, the area treated tends to experience some mild swelling for about two days, followed by about a week of mild to moderate redness and peeling. After the first two days, you look like you have sunburn, which lasts about a week. During your free initial consultation, our laser technicians will evaluate your unique needs and explain the procedure in detail. You will have the opportunity to view before and after photos to ensure that you will know what to expect from the treatment. After your treatment our staff will instruct you on the best techniques to care for your skin to maintain your healthy new look. The light is absorbed by the blood vessels in your dermis. The destroyed vessels are then reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process. Side effects from this treatment may include bruising, redness, and swelling in the treated area. These should not last for more than several days. We recommend a minimum of 3 treatments for you to receive optimal results. Full face $425
Yag Laser TreatmentsTattoo Removal On the average, professional tattoos require 6-8 treatments, while amateur tattoos require 4-5 treatments, all spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount and type of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin. Clients report a sensation from the light-pulsed energy that is similar to the snap of a small rubber band. The majority of patients do not require anesthesia, but our technicians use a local anesthesia to avoid any unnecessary discomfort. Following the treatment, the tattoo’s appearance may fade more than 96%, often erasing it completely. Results vary depending on the type of ink used in the tattoo, the depth of its application and the color. Dark (blue, black) and red inks respond most favorably to the treatment. Oranges & purples usually fade as well. Green, light blue, turquoise and yellow inks are the most challenging to remove and additional treatments are needed to produce significant fading. The laser provides maximum tattoo removal while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. Occasionally, pinpoint bleeding may be associated with the treatment. Price is subject to consultation
Acne Scarring/Rejuvenation Rejuvenation $350
Age Spot Removal (lentigos) During the treatment, you may feel some heat, stinging or a prickling sensation. When treating an entire area such as the face, a topical numbing cream is used to lessen the discomfort of the procedure. The spot(s) will become darker over the next couple of days and it will take an average of 10-14 days for spots to slough off. You can do everything that you would normally do, however the first few days, do not scrub or pick at the lesions. It is important not to pick at them because it will not allow the lesions to heal properly and will increase the risk of scarring. You absolutely must wear a good sun block while allowing the entire sloughing process. One or two treatments is usually enough to treat most lesions, but some deeper lesions may require more treatments. This procedure does not work for melasma and cannot be performed on tanned or colored skin. 1-10 spots $150 Gentle Lase: Permanent hair reduction This treatment works best on dark colored hair. It will not work on blonde, red or gray hair. Even light brown is hard for the laser to detect. The average number of treatments needed is between 6 and 8, with a minimum of 4 weeks in between treatments. Patients should avoid electrolysis or waxing for 6 weeks prior to treatment and in between treatments. There should be no more than 2 days of growth in the treatment area and we request that the area be cleaned prior to arrival. We recommend avoiding sun exposure before and after treatment as you run the risk of hypo pigmentation of the skin. We are unable to laser tan or dark-colored skin. Call for pricing |
